From three countries to six

Yoola SMS started in Uganda, then expanded to Malawi and Zambia. As of this month, we're fully live in three more: Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. That's six countries with genuine local operations — not just "we can technically deliver a message there," but real local pricing, real network coverage, and Mobile Money top-up in each one.

If you've been sending to these countries through us before, this is a real change worth understanding. If you haven't, here's what's actually available now.

What "fully live" actually means

We're careful with this phrase, because it's meant something specific and different from just "international reach." Fully live means:

Before this, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda were reachable only as international destinations — priced in credits, at a rate built for occasional cross-border sending, not for a business that actually operates there day to day. That's the real distinction.

Real pricing, all three countries

Kenya

Rates start at KES 1.30/SMS for low volume and drop to KES 0.95/SMS once you're sending 60,000+ messages a month. Covers Safaricom and Airtel Kenya.

Tanzania

Rates start at TZS 32/SMS and drop to TZS 24/SMS at high volume. Covers Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo, and Halotel.

Rwanda

Rates start at RWF 20/SMS and drop to RWF 15/SMS at high volume. Covers MTN Rwanda and Airtel.

Same structure as Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia already use: no setup fee, no minimum commitment, credits that never expire. You only pay for what you actually send.

One account, six countries

If you already have a Yoola SMS account for Uganda, Malawi, or Zambia, you don't need a new one. Add Kenya, Tanzania, or Rwanda sending directly from your existing dashboard — same API key, same login, same platform. If you're a regional business with customers or partners across multiple of these countries, this genuinely simplifies things: one place to manage everything, instead of juggling separate providers per country.

What this means if you're already sending internationally to these countries

If you've been sending to Kenya, Tanzania, or Rwanda through our international, credit-based route, the local route is very likely both cheaper and simpler now — real currency pricing instead of a credit conversion, and no need to think in credits at all for these three countries anymore.

Same platform, same reliability

This isn't a separate, bolted-on product — it's the same Yoola SMS platform already proven across three other countries, with the same infrastructure: intelligent gateway routing, built-in fraud protection, real delivery reports, and the free developer API. Nothing about how the platform works changes; what changes is that three more countries now get the same, genuine local treatment.
